PPM Power partner GES has released a new series of multi-pin high voltage connectors which enjoyed lively interest when revealed for the first time at PCIM 2015 in Nuremberg. The MCS series are designed for high voltage measurement and testing applications in analysis, laboratory and medical applications as well as for general power electronics. The connectors are easy to install and represent a significant size reduction on previous solutions.
In this article we explore basic considerations when choosing a programmable power supply such as the typical applications, basic specification, the operating window and cooling technology.
Ideal for energy storage systems with rechargeable batteries EZA2500 bi-directional converter is now available from PPM Power. The digitally controlled 2500W, 1U power supply can automatically change conversion direction from high voltage dc sources. Applications include lithium-ion battery testing and utilisation of regenerated energy.
The new LinPak IGBT phase-leg module available from PPM Power has exceptionally low stray inductance. The design enables a very low-inductive busbar and a high current carrying capability. The excellent internal and external current sharing make it ideally suited for paralleling.
A range of current ratings are available. Derating-free paralleling is possible up to at least four modules. The module features an integrated temperature sensor and a dedicated mounting area for a gate-drive adapter board. The adapter board can also be fixed with four screws in the module corners.
The Z+ range of high voltage programmable power supplies available from PPM Power now includes higher power units and a higher range of voltages. The 200W and 400W units are now available with output voltages of up to 160, 320 and 650V DC – extending the range well above the previous 100V DC limit.
Three new models are now available, from PPM Power, in the 15kW series Genesys 3U programmable power supplies. These new models have outputs of 30V at 500A, 40V at 375A and 50V at 300A. Higher currents are particularly suitable for OEM, industrial, aerospace and ATE markets. Each unit can operate in constant current or constant voltage modes and accept three phase 400VAC or 480VAC inputs.
PLECS workshop on 11th & 12th November 2015 at the University of Manchester
You will be guided through the exercises from basic applications using PLECS software to more advanced aspects like code generation and integration, scripting, PIL and much more.
PPM Power are pleased to announce a new high voltage connector, MCS Series, to add to their existing high quality range of HV connectors, manufactured in Germany by GES.
New type of connection for the high voltage differential probe series HVD3000 is now available.
