With a resistive thickness of 10 µm, the thick film resistors are a thousand times thicker than their thin film counterparts, making them exceptionally robust for your high-performance applications.
The resistors feature a unique composition and processing of the thick film paste, applied onto high-quality ceramic substrates using a precision screen printing process. This innovative approach ensures optimal thermal dissipation and high power density, making the resistors ideal for various demanding applications including electric vehicles.
The thick film resistors are engineered with additional temperature sensors to ensure controlled and safe dissipation of electrical energy within DC link systems. Their fail-safe design includes the capability to interrupt the circuit in case of a fault, thereby protecting critical systems from significant damage. An example application of this feature is seen in safety components within powertrains.
The resistors’ design facilitates excellent heat transfer to a defined cooling system through an efficient thermal connection. The alumina ceramic substrate, metallized with Miba Resistors’ ALTOX film, enhances heat dissipation. The auto-calibrated mounting fixture ensures a consistent pressure of about 300 N against the cooling plate, reinforcing the component’s durability in production environments.
