PPM offers a wide range of wirewound resistors from Ohmite and Heine, depending on the application. Wirewound resistors are constructed using conductive wire wound around a non-conductive core. They offer good energy rating and power dissipation for applications such as braking, and EV charging.
They come in different types, such as axial, tubular, or also enclosed cage where higher power dissipation is needed.

Heine wire-wound tube and frame resistors incorporate low inductive design into a variety of packages. These resistors are available with thermal switches and as completely custom designs, see below for some example parts and datasheets.
- Resistance coils – which can also be designed to be low-inductance – are attached to ceramic tubes of various diameters. Clips that also act as electrical connections are used for securing the resistance wire at either end of the coil.
- Frames are made from electrically insulating or metallic materials – remaining firmly supported and fixed even at higher temperature.
