Six new families of current sensors from LEM

LEMs new current transducer families
LEM has launched six new families of LxSR current sensors based on LEM’s proprietary Hall-effect ASIC, claiming to provide fluxgate-level measurement performance without the cost. The new series are well suited to applications where low offset drift is important such as AC output solar power and some servo drive applications. The strong performance is derived from a custom ASIC and advanced manufacturing.

The LxSR series sensors offer low offset drift of 3 to 14ppm/°C and high levels of design flexibility. All sensor provide options for an integrated voltage reference, an aperture and/or integrated primary conductors as well as fast over-current detection. Designed for nominal currents from 1.5 to 50 A, the LxSR series operates over a temperature range from -40 to +105°C.

These transducers achieve benchmark performance through a patented arrangement of multiple Hall cells in addition to sophisticated offset cancelling techniques. Each sensor is individually calibrated and sensitivity adjustments are stored in the ASIC’s One-Time-Programmable memory. The memory is also used to store a unique ID to provide full traceability of each ASIC.

LEM’s next-generation LxSR current sensors are available now for sampling and production via PPM Power. The six series are: LXS, LXSR, LES, LESR, LKSR, LPSR.
